Maryland F.C. (2010) winning the EDP 5vs5 Tournament playing an age group up. It came down to the final game against Total Futbol. Twice did MDFC had to come from behind winning the game 3:2.

“I am excited for the boys winning the tournament. This was the first time for the boys playing an age group up and they played some big boys today. I knew we could play against boys 2 years older than us but the question was how would we play. Would we be in survival mode or would we play our style of soccer. Well, a former professional soccer player from Scotland who came to me after one of our games said it best when he expressed how impressed he was with how structured, creative and technical we played,” says Head Coach Rich.

“This team is very special. We added some wonderful talent to this team especially in the GK position. Our GK is absolutely amazing. I had no idea an 8-year old can be this good and he is only going to get better. We will play a few 3vs3 tournament over the next few weeks, train hard all summer and then get ready for a fun fall season playing in top leagues and brackets in our age group and one age group up,” continues Coach Rich.

“I am also excited to get our Maryland Junior FC and Maryland Bambini FC going this fall. We are strictly a boys soccer club and we only field elite teams, no b-teams, no c-teams etc. Each year we will add a U8 team. We want to develop players and teams at a young age. We apply the German player development program. I helped write the program and it gives players a chance to learn the game the way it is meant to be played,” concludes Coach Rich.
